Atlanta real estate doesn’t get much more impressive than this.

A fantastic restored estate was put on sale recently for $5.1 million. Behind that eye-popping price is a brick Colonial mansion built in 1926 on a two-acre gated estate.

The Witham-Clark House has a long history that starts with its construction by legendary architect J. Neel Reid. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 for its architectural significance. Check out the full history (PDF) of the house from its submission form to the National Register.

The house is U-shaped, with a main part consisting of two-and-a-half stories flanked by two-story recessed wings. In the rear, the house provides three sides to a courtyard.

The house comes with a guest house with its own bedroom and full bathroom. In the main house, there’s seven bedrooms, six bathrooms and two half baths. Some luxuries include an exercise room, library, breakfast room, garden area, pool and professional landscaping.
