The actor who played Rev. Eric Camden on the WB show "7th Heaven," is reportedly being investigated by New York police for confessing -- on tape -- that he had sexual contact with several children, according to TMZ.

Collins' wife Faye Grant -- with whom he is currently embroiled in bitter divorce proceedings -- reportedly taped the actor during a therapy session where he admitted to molesting an underage girl and exposing himself to two others.

According to the TMZ report, at least one of the girls was a relative of Collins' first wife.

In addition to his work on "7th Heaven," Collins has also had roles on "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" and the ABC Family show "The Fosters."

Collins was in Atlanta recently as a panelist at DragonCon, talking about his experience shooting the "Star Trek: The Motion Picture."
