The Shops Buckhead Atlanta, the re-branded name of what used to be the Streets of Buckhead and Buckhead Atlanta, has announced the names of a dozen retail shops that have recently opened or are soon to open this year.

The announcement came the same day American Food and Beverage confirmed it would be closing . Raised Palate Restaurants, the Texas-based restaurant group (which also operates Thirteen Pies at the Shops Buckhead Atlanta,) is said to be discontinuing the American Food and Beverage brand nationwide.

The Shops Buckhead Atlanta, a high-end mixed use development has struggled with growth since its grand opening in Fall 2014. The six blocks of cityscaping is home to upscale retailers such as Hermes, Jimmy Choo, Tod's, Akris, Etro, La Perla and more. Shoppers have commented on the light crowds and some retailers have acknowledged the challenges they've had in drawing a strong customer base to the area, but with the new tenants, things seem to be moving ahead.

The newest additions include the recently opened Denim & Soul , a start-up with four locations nationwide and a forthcoming online store, that offers luxury goods at "direct-to-consumer prices." The Shops Buckhead Atlanta will be the first Denim & Soul boutique in Atlanta.

COS (Collection of Style) an offshoot of H&M , with slightly higher prices and far more minimalist style, plans to open its first metro area shop this year at Buckhead Atlanta, as does JOIE , a So-Cal lifestyle brand with shops on the East and West costs.

Kit and Ace ,makers of luxury, technical cashmere -- which recently opened a location at Ponce City Market -- is also scheduled to join the retail scene at Buckhead Atlanta. Also arriving this year, is Lindbergh, a Danish brand of menswear featuring shirts, suits, jackets and knits.

Despite rumors to the contrary, the Shops Buckhead Atlanta representatives say the Tom Ford and Dior boutiques are moving forward as planned and will open at the development this year.

NARS Cosmetics will be second beauty-only retailer in the Shops (L'Occitane is the first) while Ferguson Bath, Kitchen, & Lighting Gallery will add to the furniture and home design offerings.

Services are a new addition to the mix at the Shops at Buckhead and will include Urbana Wellness Spa ,  another metro-area location of FlyWheel and Groomed, a specialty, local barber shop.

In the restaurant space, American Cut steakhouse  is expected to open this year.

From the looks of this list, it seems the Shops may be hoping to diversify a bit beyond high-end retail with more mid-range offerings and services.
