Citizen Supply, the new-ish artisan marketplace in Ponce City Market, combines a flea market style with the variety of online shopping .
The store offers everything from bicycles to bedding from an assortment of more than 75 local and international vendors.
Founder, Phil Sanders, had the goal of giving small businesses a boost with a place to showcase their merchandise, gain consumer trust, and ultimately, compete with the big brands.
On Friday, Citizen Supply, is hosting a "merchant mixer" to give shoppers the chance to meet the makers behind these indie brands up-close.
From 7 - 9 p.m., Aug. 26, guests will enjoy free beer and wine while mingling with artisans and the business owners of the brands they shop. Citizen Supply is located at Ponce City Market, 675 Ponce de Leon Ave. Atlanta on the second floor (above West Elm.)
Some of the artisans to attend include Flordeliza, Lauren Pallotta, Pieces of Starr, So Worth Loving, and Brother Moto.
This is just one of a few ways Ponce City Market supports local artisans and small businesses.
American Field, the largest pop-up market of American-made goods, returns to PCM later this year for two days in November.
And almost 20 percent of PCM's retail or office tenants are Atlanta-based businesses including two of the newest retailers -- Boogaloos Boutique and Elk Head Clothing.
