Deep Fried Twinkies for sale at Wal-Mart stores nationwide

The wait is over for lovers of deep fried Twinkies looking for an easier way to enjoy their beloved treats.

Hostess Brands has launched a packaged version of the state fair sweets which hit Wal-Mart stores nationwide in the frozen food section.

They cost $4.76 for a box of seven and will be available only at Wal-Mart stores for the first three months, reports the Associated Press . 

Hostess and Wal-Mart worked together for a year to come up with the treats -- part of an ongoing effort to energize food sales with innovative offerings.
