The first Chick-fil-A restaurant to feature a separate entrance and pick-up area for users of online ordering is coming to Griffin next week.
The restaurant, which opens June 30, is the first location to incorporate a service area to support Chick-fil-A's One app which launched on June 1 and allows customers to order and pay for their food online before picking up at the physical location.
The new Griffin restaurant will also feature curbside parking for pick-up customers.
As always, the opening will host a First 100 event to reward customers with free food from Chick-fil-A. Also per usual, the event is restricted by zip code. You can see the eligible zip codes here .
Owned by Chuck Swinson, the new Chick-fil-A location features a red door preserved from the former Dwarf House.
Griffin Dwarf House at 1000 W. Taylor St. was built in March 1987 after taking over a 1974 building that housed a restaurant.
It took six months to rebuild the location into a new Chick-fil-A.
“My team members and I can’t wait to welcome our guests back so we can provide backstage tours of our new Griffin restaurant with a design that is the perfect backdrop for continuing our remarkable customer service the community had come to expect at this location,” said Swinson.
Swinson has a long history with the company. He was hired in 2002 as an assistant manager at the Riverdale Dwarf House and worked at three Dwarf House restaurants as well as at corporate on the Dwarf House team over a period of 14 years.
In 2104, Swinson made local news when he closed the Griffin restaurant in support of fallen Police Officer Kevin Jordan. Swinson and his team suspended service as the officer's funeral processional passed by to show to Jordan and his family.
