BET Hip Hop Awards back in Atlanta for a fourth year
BET, which has shot multiple reality shows in Atlanta in recent years including “Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is,” “College Hill,” “Frankie & Neffe” and “Tiny & Toya,” has also made the city its home for its annual hip-hop awards.
This year, for the fourth year running, the network will return, taping at the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center October 10 for airing October 27.
The show, which drew 3 million viewers last year, will feature comic Mike Epps as host. Nominations come out Sept. 14 and a lineup of performers will be announced around that time as well.
"We love Atlanta," said head of programming Stephen Hill. "The people are so friendly. The city embraces us. It's a laid-back town but it's full of people who know and respect hip-hop music."
