Days remaining in the 2017 legislative session: 2
How much work can lawmakers pack into two days? We're about to find out as the House and Senate convene for Day 39 today at 10 a.m. Day 40, blessed Sine Die, is Thursday.
Both chambers have a number of key bills on the floor for Day 39, including medical marijuana (Senate Bill 16), and tax credit bills for rural business development (SB 133) and rural hospitals (SB 180).
In the Senate, HB 280, the campus gun bill, is among the many highlights that also include a number of key tax bills. Word of warning, however: The Senate's voting calendar includes 73 bills over both days.
The initial order that they'll be taken up should be available online as of this morning on the Senate's homepage (http://www.senate.ga.gov). Just click on the link at the bottom that says "Senate Rules Calendar." Keep in mind that it's unlikely every bill will make it.
