Days remaining in the legislative session: 19

The House and Senate convene at 10 a.m. today.

Two anti-abortion bills are up in the House:

-- HB 762, authored by Rep. Wendell Willard, would prevent doctors who perform abortions from selling aborted fetal tissue. Anyone guilty of doing this could face up to five years in prison.

-- HB 555, sponsored by Rep. Joyce Chandler, R-Grayson would change the existing abortion reporting laws. It requires that the Juvenile Court and Administrative Office of the Courts compile and deliver statistics on girls 17 and younger who seek an abortion and who do not notify their parents.

Among bills up in the Senate is SB 282, which would prohibit banks from discriminating against gun shops/businesses when it comes to granting loans.
