We're at Day 37 of the 40-day General Assembly. The end is in sight.
The House and Senate convene at 10 a.m., and a dozen-plus bills are up in each chamber.
The Senate is slated to take up HB 54, allowing taxpayers to do a check-off on their state taxes to help with the college expenses of law enforcement and other emergency personnel killed in the line of duty, and HB 588, trying to limit access to pseudoephedrine, a common component in allergy and cold medicine that also is used to make methamphetamine.
A tax break on Super Bowl tickets also is up in the Senate. We're on the lookout to see if the Senate Judiciary Committee will make attempt changes to HB 859, the so-called "campus carry" bill to address new concerns raised by Gov. Nathan Deal.
