Georgia is being quickly picked apart. With the RedState Gathering looming and other candidates weighing in, the presidential campaign of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker announced this evening that U.S. Rep. Doug Collins of north Georgia will serve as the state chairman for Walker's presidential campaign. Walker, from the press release:

"Gov. Walker represents the best of America," said Collins. "He is a man who lives the values of faith and hard work that make this country great. He has not only fought for conservative values, but he has actually won. That is why I am proud to announce my support for Gov. Walker."

Earlier today, Ted Cruze put U.S. Rep. Jody Hice and state Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hudgens at the top of his Georgia campaign. On Wednesday, Jeb Bush announced endorsements from Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle and Attorney General Sam Olens.

Walker is set to speak at 4:30 p.m. Saturday to the RedState Gathering in Buckhead – the last candidate before poll-leading billionaire Donald Trump at an after-party.

The decision puts Collins slightly at odds with one of his benefactors. State House Speaker David Ralston, R-Blue Ridge, is supporting Chris Christie of New Jersey.
