Just hours after we told you that Democratic unity was falling apart left and right comes word that the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee was all but banished from this week's national convention in Philadelphia.

CNN reported that U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz will no longer speak or preside over the convention that begins Monday. The decision comes from party leaders, the network said, and are a direct result of the hacked emails that raised questions about whether the party "rigged" the primary process to benefit presumptive nominee Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders, as Sanders has claimed.

Sanders for months has callegd on Wasserman Schultz to resign and he reiterated that Sunday. His top supporter in Georgia, state Sen. Vincent Fort, D-Atlanta, said much the same.

"Debbie Wasserman Schultz needs to resign," Fort said. "She's a distraction and this is a mess. She needs to move out of the way."
