Updated at 4:45 p.m.: Matt Towery just texted to say that his father had been found safe at a local hospital. More details later.

Original: Matt Towery, the former legislator and publisher of InsiderAdvantage, just called to say that his 81-year-old father has gone missing after traveling some distance with his mother – probably this morning.

That's his father, with his mother Joan, at right.

The InsiderAdvantage publisher said his mother was found somewhat disoriented in the couple’s car in Crawford County near Macon, but is otherwise in "good shape." A wallet belonging to Towery’s father, Maurice “Buddy” Towery, was in the car, but her husband was nowhere to be found. The couple live in Atlanta, and were last seen together on Sunday night.

Towery said his father has been diagnosed with dementia. “My parents never drive,” he said.

The Cobb County Sheriff's Department has issued a Mattie's Call for Buddy Towery,  describing him as a balding man, 5-foot-9, 140 pounds with green eyes. If you've seen him, you're asked to call the Cobb sheriff's office at 770-499-4630, or email the GBI at comctr@gbi.ga.gov.
