The doors to Donald Trump's rally in Macon open within an hour, despite the 7 p.m. start time.
But already, the Bibb County district attorney, Democrat David Cooke, has declared that violence at the Coliseum gathering won't be tolerated – and is aiming his warning at Trump supporters. From the Macon Telegraph:
"As chief law enforcement officer for the community, I wanted to make sure that what's happened at previous events doesn't happen here," Cooke said. "There's been an escalation of violence at more than one event and the candidate himself has essentially endorsed it.
"I want to make it clear that we're not going to allow that here. If someone does commit unlawful violence at one of these events, we are going to prosecute it," he said.
