If it's feeling like the 6th District ads are never-ending, here's why: $19 million. That's how much outside groups have spent to blanket the airwaves for the contest to fill Tom Price's House seat, according to an analysis by the money-in-politics nonprofit Issue One.
Michael Beckel over at Issue One estimates that a staggering $11 million of that outside money has been spent in the runoff alone -- and there's still plenty of time to go.
Beckel's total does not include the amount spent by the candidates themselves. Add to that the $6.6 million in air time that Democrat Jon Ossoff has reserved on cable, TV and radio through June 20.
Handel hasn't spent anything for broadcast TV or cable ads since notching the No. 2 spot in the April 18 vote, but that's expected to change soon. She was said to be shooting ads earlier this month.
The U.S. House race has become the most expensive in the history, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. The previous record-holder was a 2012 contest in Florida.
