Zac Brown Band returns to SunTrust Park for August concert

The Zac Brown Band is off to a roaring start in 2020.

The Atlanta-based country-rock behemoths will embark on the “Roar with the Lions” tour in May, playing an assortment of amphitheaters, festivals and stadiums.

Their hometown appearance will take place at 7 p.m. Aug. 7 at SunTrust Park, adding to a weekend at the Atlanta Braves compound that includes the “Hella Mega Tour” (Green Day, Fall Out Boy, Weezer) on Aug. 8 and the roundup of Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts on Aug. 9.

The band played the venue in 2018.

Tickets for the SunTrust Park concert will go on sale for the Zamily fan club at noon Jan. 14. Citi cardholder can access tickets from 10 a.m. Jan. 15 through 10 p.m. Jan. 16 at www.citientertainment.com. And tickets to the general public will be available at 10 a.m. Jan. 17 through www.ticketmaster.com

ZBB’s road run will include songs from their entire catalog, along with their usual grab bag of covers.

According to Brown, the tour’s name is multi-layered.

“Our summer tour is inspired by the folklore surrounding the figure of the lion. I am a Leo, and all of the guys in the band are lions,” he said. “They exemplify strength, courage, intelligence, and loyalty, and work in tandem to defend their territory and one another. The crowd is our pride – rooted in togetherness and fiercely loyal. They always show up for each other, no matter what, just like our fans always show up for us. We can’t wait to hear you roar with us!”
