Last fall, Maxwell charmed an Atlanta crowd with sensuous and funky reworkings of his songs, backed by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.

It’s an experiment that worked well, as the singer-songwriter will be back with the ASO for shows Oct. 2-3 at Atlanta Symphony Hall.

Maxwell is also performing with world-renowned orchestras in Baltimore, Detroit, San Diego and Los Angeles.

Along with the orchestra, he’ll be joined onstage by his longtime band, including Hod David (guitar), Latina Webb (vocals), Derrick Hodge (creative director, arranger and bassist), Darryl Howell (drums) and Shedrick Mitchell (keyboards).

Tickets will go on sale at noon Feb. 28 at www.ticketmaster.com (a venue pre-sale begins at 10 a.m. Feb. 27).
