The documentary “R.E.M. By MTV” debuted earlier this month in New York, and even attracted founding members of the band Michael Stipe and Mike Mills to the screening.

On Tuesday, the feature-length film, which traces the history of R.E.M. and MTV together in real time, will land on the big screen one more time in select cities nationwide – including a 7 p.m. showing at Midtown Art Cinema.

Tickets are $15. Click here to purchase in advance .

“R.E.M. By MTV” will be included in the upcoming six-DVD collection, “REMTV,” which offers more than 14 hours of material, including live performances from throughout the beloved Athens’ band’s career. That set arrives Nov. 24 with a retail price of $99.98.

Later this month, the film will premiere simultaneously on VH1 Classic and Palladia.

The launch of R.E.M. and MTV began almost simultaneously, with the band releasing its first single in July 1981 and MTV launching the following month. Since that point, MTV documented everything about R.E.M., up until their disbanding in 2011.
