President Donald Trump said on Saturday that he is ready to expand travel restrictions on people living in Europe to include the United Kingdom, telling reporters he is also considering travel restrictions inside the United States, as a way to hold back on the spread of the Coronavirus.

“If you don't have to travel, I wouldn't do it,” the President said at a news conference in the White House Briefing Room.  "We want this thing to end.”

Asked about travel restrictions at home, Mr. Trump gave no details, but said it could involve 'certain areas.'

"We're working with the states, and we're considering other restrictions," the President added, without giving any details.

As for his own health, President Trump revealed that he had been tested on Friday night for the Coronavirus.

That came about twelve hours after the President's doctor told reporters in a letter that there was no need for Mr. Trump to take a Coronavirus test, saying the risk to him was low, even though the President had come in contact with people who have now tested positive.

"Additionally, given the President himself remains without symptoms, testing for COVID-19 is not currently indicated," wrote Navy Commander Sean P. Conley.

But clearly, something changed along the way, as the the White House doctor's office started scanning reporters, staff - and even the President.

“I had my temperature taken coming into the room,” Mr. Trump said, as had other reporters.

One CNN reporter was kept out of the briefing room by officials after showing a higher than normal temperature.

“According to the White House Medical Unit, the temperature was taken three times over a 15 minute period,” the Vice President's spokeswoman tweeted, saying all three checks were over the CDC guidelines of 100.4 degrees.

That person was not allowed into the Briefing Room, and was instead taken outside of the building.
