There are no car chases, shootouts or super humans flying around in capes in "Gifted," which filmed in coastal Georgia and hits theaters today.

Instead the movie about a boat engine repairman named Frank (Chris Evans) raising his brilliant young niece Mary (Mckenna Grace) with the help of his caring friend and neighbor Roberta (Octavia Spencer), striving to keep things together amid an unforeseen challenge that threatens their happy life, is a sweet respite from the CGI blockbuster scene.

Here's what else you might look for during the film:

A very different side of Chris Evans. Marvel fans love him as hunky and nearly indestructible Captain America. Here he's a former college professor knocking around his little saltbox home, cobbling together a living fixing boat engines and struggling to do the best he can for his niece after tragedy brings them together. "Gifted" presents a different definition of the word "super hero."

Octavia Spencer's dance moves. Spencer earned an Oscar for her role as Minny Jackson in "The Help" and was nominated for her role as Dorothy Vaughan in Atlanta-filmed "Hidden Figures." Her role in "Gifted" puts her natural warmth, humor and wisdom on display - and the chemistry she and 10-year-old Mckenna have shines especially in this memorable scene

Tybee Island and Savannah. The movie is set in Pinellas County, Fla., where St. Petersburg and Clearwater are, but was filmed in coastal Georgia thanks to Georgia's nifty tax credits for the filmmaking industry. The shots of sweeping expanses of marshy lowlands and water oaks draped in moss belie the movie's true location. Can you spot Butler Avenue?
