Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe will team up for "The Nice Guys," which will be set in 1970s Los Angeles and will do some filming in Atlanta.

"A private eye investigates the apparent suicide of a fading porn star in 1970s Los Angeles and uncovers a conspiracy," is the noir-sounding plot, per imdb.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that Angourie Rice and Margaret Qualley have joined the cast of the project,  directed by Shane Black and produced by  Joel Silver.

"The script, which Black co-wrote with Anthony Bagarozzi, tells of a private detective (Gosling) and a jaded racketeer (Crowe) who must team up to find a missing actress in the scuzzy, seedy and smoggy side of 1970s Los Angeles," HR reports.

How on earth are they going to make Atlanta look seedy or smoggy?
