Questlove of "The Roots" fame was in Atlanta recently for an exclusive after hours event at Opera nightclub to celebrate the tricentennial anniversary of French Cognac house, Martell.

“We never go out for endorsements, but this is special,” said Questlove as he discussed his admiration for the tricentennial celebration. He mentioned that Martell resonates the parallel vision The Roots has for their longstanding career and brand.

The Roots just celebrated their 25th anniversary a few years ago. He said both Martell and The Roots brand represents a “certain level of class.”

We got to spend a few minutes tasting the exceptional cognac and talking to him about the Martell cognac-sponsored Vanguard Series taking place in St. Louis, Detroit, Atlanta and Chicago. This Vanguard Series has even expanded to the "Food Salon" or better known as a “culinary jam sessions” he hosts in his Manhattan home, where “the chefs are the new MCs.”
