President Barack Obama finally has an official, presidential Twitter account.

His newly selected banner photo features some prominent Georgia connections; it shows him clasping hands with U.S. Rep. John Lewis. I believe this image is from when a group made a commemorative march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Ala. to mark the 50th anniversary of "Bloody Sunday." Martin Luther King III is in the photo as well.

The president already has an account using his name, launched when he was a candidate. This one appears to be aimed at perpetuity; he'll hand over the reigns when a new president moves into the White House.
