A sweet dog named Boss, who has spent months at the Atlanta Humane Society after his former family gave him up, might have a chance at a new home thanks to the organization's compelling social media campaign.

More than 43,000 shares and 900 comments later, Boss could be headed home. His adoption fee has been covered by a donor, and a possible new family has come to meet him.

"We are overwhelmed with your amazing support of our sweet boy Boss!" the Humane Society posted on Thursday in a follow-up post. " He met with a potential new family today and is going to meet two potential dog siblings tomorrow to see how they get along. None of this would have been possible without you all sharing him, and we can't thank you enough!"

If you have room in your family for a new friend this Christmas, see the Atlanta Humane Society site here.
