Reese Witherspoon announced with sorrow that her adorable four-legged "Legally Blonde" co-star has died. The key role of Bruiser, Elle Woods' faithful companion, was played by a chihuahua named Moonie, who died of natural causes at 18.

Here's the message Witherspoon posted:

"With a sad heart, I have to let all the 'Legally Blonde' fans know that Bruiser Woods (also known as Moonie) passed away yesterday. He was a sweet little Chihuahua who was very loved. I will never forget all the days we spent together ... I'm sure his tail is wagging in the sky. Sending love to his trainer, the wonderful Sue Chipperton. RIP Bruiser."
