Hallmark releases transgender Mother's Day commercial

Hallmark has released a commercial featuring Alex, who was born female but identifies as male, just in time for Mother's Day. The ad, hash-tagged #putyourhearttopaper, features a surprise mother-child reunion with Alex's mom, Pam, at the end.

"I've never felt home in my body. Even though I was born a girl, I've always felt like I was a boy," Alex says in the ad. "I was afraid to tell her because I thought love would have conditions. The unconditional love that she's shown has made me a better person in all of my relationships."
