LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - At this point, it's a recovery effort.

Although authorities have searched diligently since a 2-year-old was attacked at a Disney resort last night, the update is grim.

Given the length of time that's elapsed,"Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings says there's no longer hope of a rescue.

"This is a recovery effort at this point," he said.

The child and family are not being identified.

"We are being sensitive to the needs of the family," the sheriff said. "We do not want them to hear or read about it from the media."

Security at the Grand Floridian Resort is very tight today. Only guests with a confirmed reservation are allowed on sight. On the property, a pool close to the water where the attack happened is closed. Staff members are patrolling the property as law enforcement scans the lake by boat and helicopter.
