International human rights lawyer Amal Clooney and her husband, an actor who once played a handyman on "The Facts of Life," are the new parents of twins.

The statement issued on their behalf to multiple media outlets stressed the new dad's well-being:

"This morning Amal and George welcomed Ella and Alexander Clooney into their lives. Ella, Alexander and Amal are all healthy, happy and doing fine. George is sedated and should recover in a few days."

The Clooneys, who own a historic mansion in Berkshire, have been awaiting the new arrivals in London, the Associated Press reported.

The former Amal Alamuddin, 39, and her 56-year-old husband married in Italy in 2014. They are both new parents.
