Broadcaster Frank Ski, known for his long stint at Atlanta's V-103, is returning to the airwaves. He's signed on with Atlanta-based Bounce TV as on-air talent, and will also be serving as a consultant.

"I’ve known them for a while," Ski told the AJC. "We kind of got together and decided we should work together."

He goes to work almost immediately - he'll be providing commentary during a Sunday boxing match happening in Florida - and will have a wide range of duties at the network, whose founders include Martin Luther King III and former Atlanta Mayor and UN Ambassador Andrew Young.

"I’ll be able to do a lot a whole lot of stuff," Ski said. "This is just the first step of getting me in the door."

Last summer, Ski announced his departure from DC station WHUR-FM on after two years as the afternoon host. Ski left Atlanta after 14 years on V-103 as morning host in late 2012, most of that time at No. 1.

"It is amazing to be back home," said the father of four, who has been an active part of Atlanta's philanthropic community. "It’s great that I can do this because it leaves me opportunities."

Like a radio comeback? Ski said that possibility is coming together, too.

"All of these radio companies now realize they have to have a TV component," he said. His new television role, he said, "helps solidify that conversation. It opens a lot of doors."

Bounce TV describes itself as "the first African American broadcast network, featuring a programming mix of theatrical motion pictures, sporting events, documentaries, specials, inspirational faith-based programs, off-network series, original programming and more."

Ski told the AJC about his new gig literally on the way into the office.

"I’m going there now to get my laptop connected to the network," said Ski, who definitely sounded like he had a "Bounce" in his step. "They have 95 million viewers! This is crazy!"
