It just so happens that "Empire" star Taraji P. Henson is in the Atlanta area at the moment, filming "Hidden Figures." That's a movie about African American women who were integral to NASA's early missions. It also stars Octavia Spencer, Janelle Monae and Kevin Costner and has been filming in Canton and East Point.

The "Empire" spinoff, tentatively named "Star," needs African American and Hispanic men and women ages 28 to 55 who can play “hard-working mothers and fathers” for a scene set in a foster-care center.

Casting folks need people who have not before appeared in this pilot and who are available on Thursday to meet the director. They’ll pay you $16 for your time for that. You need to be able to work this Saturday, time TBA. The pay rate is $64 for 8 hours of work. Send three photos - no makeup - and your name, contact info, dimensions and sizes, to MHCPilotReshoot@gmail.com with “4/9 PARENT” in the subject line.
