Ebola Halloween costumes: trendy or tacky?

Ebola fears are gripping the nation as a healthcare worker recently infected with the deadly virus is headed to Emory University following the death of the patient she was caring for in Dallas.

Atlanta airport officials are screening passengers flying in from Ebola-stricken regions, as the CDC seeks to interview passengers who unknowingly flew on a plane with a second Dallas healthcare worker who has now tested positive.

A company that makes Halloween costumes evidently sees this as a business opportunity. BrandsOnSale is peddling a $79.99 "Ebola suit" outfit with the following message:

"The deadly Ebola virus has landed in the United States and the crisis has reached new levels of domestic escalation. You are sure to be prepared if any outbreak happens at your Halloween party. This will literally be the most "viral" costume of the year.

Does this strike you as clever marketing or horribly tasteless?

BrandsOnSale chief executive Jonathan Weeks told the Associated Press that his company doesn't stray from anything controversial. No kidding.

What's your opinion?
