Comedienne and actress Sarah Silverman's Christmas Day tweet sparked outrage and some amount of amusement, which was probably her goal: "Merry Christmas! Jesus was gender fluid!"

Scripture is pretty clear on Jesus being a guy. See the Bible or the John 3:16 sign at your nearest football stadium for reference.

But since Silverman is known for her irreverence, what better day to make fun of Jesus than on His birthday?

While some commenters were outraged others were amused or at least impressed with Silverman's mastery of the Twitter game.
