Charlie Sheen makes a "revealing personal announcement" on the Today Show this morning. It's widely expected that he'll reveal he is HIV positive, numerous media outlets are reporting.

He's in the Today Show studio now where he will discuss his situation "in his own words," host Matt Lauer said a moment ago.

Hollywood publicist Howard Bragman told People magazine he's known about Sheen's condition for months. "The interview could open up a lot of sympathy for him, but he has to be concerned about a fear of litigation from former sexual partners," he told People.

Bragman later told CNN: "I feel very sorry for his pain. And I hope it's used as a teachable moment for the world. This is a disease that can affect anyone."
