When Michael Strahan leaves the morning show "Live" in a few months, rapper-actor Bow Wow is ready to take his place."Kelly Ripa I'll come join you and co-host!" he tweeted. "You need something young, fresh and fly next to you."

Ripa is due back on "Live" today after staying away for several days, reportedly furious over how the announcement regarding Strahan was handled.

Bow Wow's offer could add a little levity to what could potentially be an awkward on-screen reunion. Talk of Ripa's reported fury over how the announcement was handled has dominated headlines about the show lately, as Strahan was paired with a number of fill-in guest hosts including Erin Andrews.

"Good morning w/ Kelly and Shad I like that hmmm....," Bow Wow (real name Shad Moss) tweeted.

Kelly Ripa keeps her distance and silence, dodging Michael Strahan's calls

Deadline posted an internal email Ripa sent "Live" staff members indicating she'll return Tuesday. "I wanted to thank you all for giving me the time to process this new information,” her email said.

TMZ reported that crew members, fearful for their jobs, were starting to grouse. The New York Daily News reported she was "dodging" Strahan's calls and previously reported that Ripa "threw a fit" when she learned he would be leaving. The Wrap posted a piece saying "Ripa is having a diva-like fit of pique."

The New York Times reported "rancor behind the scenes" while Variety reported that "Ripa was angry after ABC executives gathered her, Strahan and the show's staff together at the end of Tuesday's taping to reveal that Strahan would end his run at 'Live' in four months, then move full time to 'GMA.' Immediately afterward, the network announced the move publicly. That night, Strahan received a call from the show telling him that Ripa would not be coming to work the next day."

So today's show shouldn't be awkward or anything. At all.
