Atlanta-filmed "Nice Guys" and "Neighbors 2" hit theaters today

The retro detective buddy flick "The Nice Guys" with Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling and comedy "Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising," with Zac Efron, Seth Rogen Rose Byrne, Chloë Grace Moretz and Dave Franco are both in theaters today. Both were filmed in metro Atlanta, joining "Captain America: Civil War," "The Boss" and "Mother's Day," locally filmed projects that are still in theaters.

"The Nice Guys" is set in 1970s Los Angeles, so the guys are tricked out in vintage threads and cruise around the streets of Atlanta, standing in for L.A., in ginormous metal dinosaurs. (Check out the shag carpet in the premiere photo above - very on point!)
One of the groovy party scenes took place at producer Dallas Austin's retro fabulous home in Sandy Springs. Take a peek here.
The movie also filmed in Stone Mountain, Decatur and Castleberry Hill.

"Neighbors 2" filmed, among other places, in my colleague Greg Bluestein's neighborhood. Blue took a break from chasing political news to nab this photo of Zac sprinting down the street in his underwear.
Chloe was spotted hanging out at this local culinary destination .
And Seth revealed the one thing poor Zac could never do while filming "Neighbors 2" in Atlanta .
