Actor Tom Arnold is blasting accuser ahead of Al Franken's statement

"Saturday Night Live" comic turned U.S. Sen. Al Franken is due to make a statement later today amid growing calls for him to step down following broadcaster Leeann Tweeden's accusations that Franken left her feeling “disgusted and violated” when they were both part of a 2006 performance for troops.

Actor Tom Arnold has taken to Twitter to criticize Tweeden.

"I’m disappointed with my friend Leeann Tweedon," Arnold posted, spelling her name wrong. "Her partner at KABC John Phillips is a Roger Stone pal & they coached her for weeks to bring Al Franken down. I’d hoped she’d use her voice to speak out for all women again predators like Roy Moore & Donald Trump but she’s a birther."

Arnold went on to say he has supported her in the past but now wants the government to shut down her station: "I’ve gone to bat for Leeann 100 times this last month hoping she’d at least reveal her whole truth too but she ghosted me. I know every single detail of this political manipulation. KABC should lose their license. Promoting a fraud is a federal offense & FCC violation."
