Several solid sandwiches grace the menu at this casual downtown Alpharetta eatery. For a spicy concoction, try the Kaya, which features a mix of jerk salmon, avocado, pickled red onion, cucumber, mango slaw and the kick of jerk mayo. Another option: the Game Over, made with smoked pork, spicy jalapeno mayo, caramelized onion, banana pepper, avocado and Swiss cheese — all piled between slices of French sourdough bread.

2. Grilled caprese sandwich at Osteria Mattone
Available for brunch and lunch at this spot in historic Roswell, the grilled caprese sandwich is made with grilled mozzarella, tomato, basil, truffle butter and Tuscan bread. Enjoy a classic Italian dish, sandwich-style, at Colletta — located at Avalon in Alpharetta.
