A late-night Mexican restaurant whose motto is ‘tacos without borders’ is set to open its first Georgia location this summer.
Dallas-based Velvet Taco will open in the Buckhead Market Place at 77 Paces Ferry Place NW
The all-day restaurant, including late-night hours, offers a menu “exploring the edge of multi-regional and multi-cultural boundaries and an eclectic array of spices and flavors from across the world,” according to a press release.
The menu will offer more than 20 varieties of tacos including spicy tikka chicken, fried paneer, Picnic Chicken, falafel, Cuban Pig, Annatto Shredded Pork and ahi poké. The restaurant also offers a weekly taco feature, with past options including Nashville Hot Cauliflower, crawfish and pork jambalaya, Hangover Burger, Vindaloo Flank & Hemp and the Velvet Elvis.
Velvet Taco will also offers several sides including red curry coconut queso, red velvet cake for dessert and drinks including margaritas, local craft beers and craft sodas.
Designed to feel like a reclaimed loft, the “cool, industrial space” will feature an exposed ceiling, concrete, steel accents and “a mix of modern, quirky and collected furniture.”
The 2,500 square-foot restaurant will join other Velvet Taco locations in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and Chicago.
