Tin Can Oyster House has closed in the Town Brookhaven development after almost three years.

The restaurant closed over the weekend, Tomorrow's News Today first reported. The AJC confirmed the closure with a message posted today on the restaurant's door:

Tin Can opened a little less than three years ago in the space previously occupied by Here to Serve's Shucks Oyster and Wine Bar. It was run by siblings Harry and Nik Panagopoulos and Arte Antoniades. The restaurant featured a variety of oysters; a selection of open-faced "toasties" with a variety of topping choices; mussels; salads' seafood stew; and New England and Manhattan chowders.

Arte and Nik also owned a Tin Can Fish House & Oyster Bar and Mexican restaurant Teela Taqueria in City Walk at Sandy Springs.  Tin Can shuttered last year to make way for Bogartz Food Artz,  while Teela Taqueria was sold. The siblings also owned Filo's in Chastain Square.

Italian restaurant Amore Cucina closed at Town Brookhaven last month.

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
