A Midtown tavern has plans to relocate after closing earlier this year in Midtown.

The Barrelhouse, which was located at 22 5th St. NW at Tech Square for seven years, will open at 701 Highland Ave. NE in Old Fourth Ward this fall. The space was previously occupied by Cast Iron, which closed earlier this year.

Before that, the space was home to restaurants Last Word and P’Cheen.

Barrelhouse “looks to provide a casual pub atmosphere with signature burgers, local beers and a notable bourbon program to the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood,” according to a press release.

“With a spacious patio and walking distance from the Beltline, we can’t wait to be the “living room” for Old Fourth Ward residents and other in-town neighbors,” owner James Brooks said in the release.

Also moving in on the block this year are market and cafe Everyday and Field Day from the owner of Charleston's Queen Street Grocery. They'll take the place of Across the Street and Across the Street Market, which shuttered earlier this year.
