Savannah Bee Company is opening a storefront in Atlanta. The Georgia-based retailer known for artisanal honey and honey-kissed health and beauty products will open its new boutique in the Westside Provisions District this summer.

Company founder and president Ted Dennard expressed his excitement about bringing a Savannah Bee storefront to Atlanta. "This milestone is a natural expansion in Savannah Bee’s home state,” Dennard said.

The boutique will offer a unique shopping experience for customers with a mead bar for honey-wine tastings, honey tastings and a large selection of beauty products made from hive ingredients.

Savannah Bee Co. is the leading manufacturer in everything to do with honeybees and offers a wide range of products that are made with all-natural and organic ingredients. Some bestsellers customers should look out for include Tupelo Honey, Royal Jelly Body Butter, liquid honey hand soap and Raw Acacia Honeycomb.

With the addition of the Atlanta boutique, Savannah Bee Co. will have five locations statewide. Its products are also available online.

Six soldiers were honored, each receiving Meritorious Service Medals, Thursday for heroic actions responding to the shooting at Fort Stewart. “One of the things I can say unequivocally is that the fast action of these soldiers — under stress and under trauma and under fire — absolutely saved lives from being lost,” U.S. Army Secretary Dan Driscoll told reporters as the six soldiers stood near him Thursday. “They are everything that is good about this nation.” (Hyosub Shin/AJC)
