New Food and Drink: Dulce Vegan; Painted Duck; Gate City

Dulce Vegan Bakery reopening

After temporarily closing in April for renovations, Dulce Vegan Bakery & Cafe will reopen this summer with the debut of its newly expanded Kirkwood location. During the hiatus, owners Howell Belser and Idalys Sansores made changes to the space, including streamlining the kitchen and updating the front of the house with a new counter and window seating. The organic, plant-based cafe menu will include favorites such as cinnamon rolls and scones, plus seasonal soups, sandwiches and salads made with organic, local and fair-trade ingredients. Look for local coffee from Batdorf and Bronson roasters and organic loose leaf tea from Art of Tea. 1994 Hosea L. Williams Drive N.E., Atlanta. 404-624-7417.

Painted Duck set for summer 2016

Justin Amick and William Stallworth of the Painted Pin , the upscale bar, bowling and entertainment venue, which opened in Buckhead in June 2014, are set to open a similar concept next summer in the new Stockyards Atlanta development on the Westside. Dubbed the Painted Duck , it’s billed as a “distinguished drinkery, duckpin bowling and gaming parlour” and will feature 18 full-service duckpin bowling lanes, indoor deck shuffleboard and horseshoe pits, Belgian feather bowling, two full-service private karaoke rooms, and other competitive group gaming options. 976 Brady Ave., Atlanta.

Gate City Brewing coming to Roswell

Gate City Brewing Co. has signed a lease on a two-story building at 43 Magnolia St. in historic downtown Roswell. The top floor will house the brewery’s production facility, while the bottom floor will house its tasting room. The plan calls for completing construction and licensing of the brewery in fall 2015, with opening for tours and tastings to come soon after. Gate City currently brews its two signature beers, 1864 American IPA and Copperhead Amber Ale, under contract at Reformation Brewing in Woodstock.
