Chef Jeremy Miller has waved goodbye to Atlanta. Last week, Miller began working as executive chef at Champions Retreat Golf Club near Augusta, Ga.

Miller had helmed the kitchen at American Food & Beverage in Buckhead until it closed this past January . Since then, the plant-loving chef held a vegan pop-up called Herbivore at Cafe Sunflower. He also took a position as research and development chef for Ray's Restaurant Group, which operates Ray's Rio Bravo , Ray's on the River , Ray's in the City and Ray's at Killer Creek.

Miller, who has spent time in such notable kitchen as Jean-Georges in New York City and Thomas Keller’s French Laundry, called the job change “a good move all-around” for his family. The Augusta native is looking forward to raising his young daughters near family.

Since his wife’s job as a cheerleader for the Falcons brings her to Atlanta a few times a week, he noted there is a possibility of his holding an Herbivore pop up in Atlanta this fall.
