Buy This: 3 things you’ll need for your Easter baskets and treats

Easter is early this year. Have you laid in your supplies?

Easter-themed sprinkles from Williams Sonoma

The best Easter sprinkles

You can settle for some colored sugar or maybe a few bright green jimmies and say, “Done!” when you decorate those Easter cupcakes. Or, you can use these adorable crunchy candy chicks and bunnies and tiny Easter eggs from Williams Sonoma. Our own Grant Park-based savory salt and fun sugar impresarios at Beautiful Briny Sea created these mixes for Williams Sonoma so you know they’re colorful, delicious and lots of fun. The Easter “tower” includes three 4-ounce jars of sprinkles including Chicks and Bunnies, Easter Egg Hunt (our favorite with the tiniest of candy Easter eggs and bright green sprinkles of sugar grass) and Pastel Party.

$14.95 for the tower. Available at both Atlanta area Williams Sonoma stores or online at williams-sonoma.com where they come with free shipping.

S'mores from Malvi Marshmallow Confections

The best Easter treats

Chocolate foil-covered eggs and fruity jelly beans are so 2017. How about tucking some fluffy local marshmallows into your Easter baskets this year? In Cumming, Laura and Paris Retana of Malvi Marshmallow Confections are busy whipping up (yes, it takes lots of whipping to make marshmallows) fun marshmallows in flavors like Berry Tropical and Cotton Candy, and baking tiny squares of butter cookies to turn some of those marshmallows into treats like Raspberry Hibiscus or Vanilla Salted Caramel Malvi S’mores. The S’mores come wrapped in packets of two and the mallows come wrapped in stacks of five. All perfect for Easter baskets and for post-Easter brunch snacking.

Prices range from $10 for 10 marshmallows to $22 for a sampler of 12 s’mores. Available at malvimallow.com and at The Spotted Trotter and Whole Foods at Merchant Walk.

All natural Easter egg dye kit from Color Kitchen

The best Easter dyes

Skip the artificially colored Easter eggs this year. While it’s entirely possible to get out red cabbage, blueberries, onion skins and beets and make natural dyes, we’ve found an easier way. You can use this Easter Egg Coloring Kit from Color Kitchen. The kit comes with three colors made from radish (purple), cabbage (blue) and annatto, the seeds of the achiote tree that make a bright orange coloring. You can dye the eggs in one color, or double or triple dip to produce a rainbow of hues. Each kit will dye up to two dozen eggs.

$8.99. Available at colorkitchenfoods.com/products/easter-egg-coloring-kit.
