Beer Pick: Red Brick Sea Otter Stout

Atlanta's Red Brick Brick Brewing Co. has been partnering with the Georgia Aquarium to create limited edition offerings with the goal of bringing attention to the Aquarium and its mission.

The the third in the series is Sea Otter Stout, a roasty American stout brewed to celebrate one of the Aquarium’s most beloved animals, the Southern sea otter.

A portion of the sales will go towards Georgia Aquarium’s Southern sea otter research and preservation efforts.

And with that in mind, Sea Otter Stout is this week’s Beer Pick.

Described as both roasty and hoppy, Sea Otter is an American-style stout that’s made for sipping during the winter and holiday season. The flavor profile is similar to Sierra Nevada’s classic West Coast-style stout, with a bold balance of bright American hops, rich dark malts, and coffee, chocolate and citrus notes before the dry bitterness of the finish.

Match the roasty and hoppy flavors and aromas of Sea Otter Stout with grilled lamb, Mexican mole, Stilton or sharp cheddar cheese, or gingerbread cookies.
