Babakabab, the Lebanese food truck voted Best Food Truck in Atlanta in a recent AJC reader poll, is planning its first brick and mortar location in the Chattahoochee Food Works in the Upper Westside. Scheduled to open this summer in the food hall headed by celebrity chef and Bizarre Foods host Andrew Zimmern, Babbakabab will be the development's only Mediterranean restaurant.

Since 2018, Babbakabab has roamed Atlanta’s streets as a food truck serving health-conscious Lebanese barbecue, including kebabs, grilled falafel and a fan-favorite garlic sauce.

“We’re very excited to take this next step and bring our healthy, delicious Lebanese food to the people of Atlanta! It’s important to us that people can enjoy one of the best parts of our culture - our food,” said co-owner Samer Bakri in a statement.

The Chattahoochee Food Works food hall is a 16,000 square foot market that will focus on international cuisine. The development will also feature a test kitchen, bar, transitional indoor-outdoor space and permanent all-season outdoor seating.

Currently in phase one of its development, the Works at Chattahoochee has been master planned for 350,000 square feet of retail and entertainment, 500,000 square feet of office space, 500 residences, 200 hotel rooms and 13 acres of greenspace. Other Atlanta food and beverage tenants have been announced for the development outside of the food hall, including a new taproom for Scofflaw Brewing and a location of Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q.  The first phase of development at the Works at Chattahoochee is focused on office and retail space.
