Meet ‘LEGO Masters’ champions at Zoo Atlanta this Saturday

With only a few weeks of summer vacation left, Zoo Atlanta is pulling out all the stops. On Saturday, they’re hosting Mark and Steven Erickson, winners of FOX’s “LEGO Masters” second season for a morning full of fun.

From 9 a.m. to noon, the Erickson brothers will be at the Zoo’s Panda Veranda, where they will meet and greet fans, sign trading cards, and display photos of their original Zoo Atlanta-inspired LEGO scene.

The Erickson brothers will also act as celebrity judges for Zoo Atlanta’s Build Your Best Challenge, where contestants use LEGO pieces to create their favorite animal, Zoo Atlanta scene or animals from their imaginations. The winners will be announced on July 28.

The meet and greet is part of “Nature POP!” — the Zoo’s newest exhibit featuring more than 40 sculptures crafted entirely from LEGOs. Sean Kenney, the artist behind the project, is renowned for his work with the famous toy bricks. The exhibition will remain on display through Aug. 8 and is included with the price of admission to Zoo Atlanta.
