This weekend is a big one. Between Juneteenth and Father’s Day, there’s lots to celebrate. From a homecoming show to a pub crawl, with a little Rose Scott sprinkled in, here are five ways to spend your weekend in the A.

Start your Juneteenth weekend off with Rose Scott

In honor of Juneteenth, WABE’s popular program “Closer Look” with Rose Scott will be broadcast live from the Atlanta History Center on Friday between 1-2 p.m. After the event, meet Rose for a brief reception hosted by the Canadian Consulate. Doors open at 12:30 p.m.

Catch Earthgang play a hometown show

Founded in 2008, the Atlanta duo comprised of Olu (aka Johnny Venus) and WowGr8 (aka Doctur Dot) met when they were students at Southwest Atlanta’s storied Benjamin E. Mays High School. Since then, they’ve co-founded the collective Spillage Village, and released hit after hit, including “BILLI” off their latest album, “Ghetto Gods,” which they are currently on tour in support of.

If you’re a fan of Atlanta hip-hop — or just good music — you’ll want to be part of this epic homecoming show.

Celebrate Record Store Day for a second time this year

The original Record Store Day — April 23 — was a little wonky this year, thanks to supply chain and production issues that delayed the delay of several special releases. To make good, Criminal Records has decided to celebrate again! So dust off your record shelf and make room for all that sweet new vinyl. The event will feature live music from DJ Saasha Foo and DJ Swivel, along with a sidewalk sale from 1-2 p.m. All Record Store Day releases will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Join one of the biggest pride pub crawls

Come out and celebrate Pride with “the proudest crawl of the year!” Stop by some of Atlanta’s most iconic bars from 4 p.m. till late for exclusive drink deals, excellent food and a fantastic time. Check-in is from 4-6 p.m. at Blake’s, with stops along the route at Henry’s, 10th and Piedmont, and Bulldogs, as well as a special after-party at the Koo Koo Room.

Take Dad to the Family Food Fest

Bring your Dad for Sunday afternoon fun at this family-friendly event. Throughout the day, you can sample a wide variety of foods while celebrating fathers and men who make a difference in their families and communities. There will also be food demonstrations, live music, a kid’s zone, raffle prizes and other activities.
