#DrummondPuddleWatch on Periscope

The Internet will never lack for creative ways to fight boredom, especially during a work week.

A British marketing agency, Drummond Central, started a Periscope live stream of a large puddle in Newcastle upon Tyne, apparently from its office building, hashtagged it #DrummondPuddleWatch and, to the surprise of no one who follows Internet culture, created a splash (ha!) with more than 19,000 Periscope viewers tuned it at a time.

Twitter users following the hashtag questioned their own sanity for watching, berated a person who set up a tripod, and speculated on whether there were far more viewers watching that what Periscope was displaying.
