The Bronner Bros. International Beauty Show will return to a new location (in Hall C) at the Georgia World Congress Center this weekend from August 15-17.
In addition to workshops and education for beauty professionals and students, there will be entertainment geared to the general public. Two events on Saturday and Sunday offer the opportunity to see big names in the beauty industry live on stage.
On Saturday, August 15 from 8 p.m. – midnight, during “BB After Dark: An exciting evening of comedy, hair, fashion and fun,” John Paul Dejoria, the billionaire co-founder of Paul Mitchell Systems and Patron Spirits, will make a special presentation. The hair industry icon chose the Bronner Bros. show to officially unveil a new line of Paul Mitchell products designed for people with multi-textured hair.
Locals including Derek J (of RHOA fame) and Wanda Smith, as well as stylist Kim Kimble (Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Britney, et. al) will take part in the event. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. VIP attendees and 3 day/ 2 night pass holders are admitted free.
On Sunday, August 16 at 8 p.m., guests are invited to attend a televised hair battle featuring four celebrity stylists and four celebrity judges. Again, tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door to be part of the taping audience. VIP attendees and 3 day/ 2 night pass holders are admitted free.
The stylists include Atlanta-based Terrence Davidson, who rose to fame as a wig designer/stylist for Nicki Minaj. Last year, Davidson made headlines when he filed a lawsuit against Minaj for intellectual property infringement claiming that Minaj launched a wig line based on his designs without his consent. The lawsuit was tossed out of court with Minaj saying in so many words that Davidson had just tanked his own career and would never appear on television. But appear he will when the Bronner Bros Battle airs on BET’s Centric.

During the day, the beauty show is open to licensed beauty industry professionals and cosmetology students only. Show passes, ranging from $20 – $150, are available online at www.bronnerbros.com. On-site registration is also available at an increased rate.
